IT: Welcome to Derry
Set in 1962, IT: Welcome to Derry follows a group of misfit kids as a string of unsettling child disappearances grips their small Maine town. What begins as whispered rumors and strange sights turns into a shared suspicion that something ancient is feeding beneath Derry’s streets. As fear spreads, a few determined adults try to restore calm and protect their families, while outsiders pursue their own agenda in town.
In 1962, Derry looks like an ordinary American town, but a troubling pattern of missing children and uneasy silence hangs over its neighborhoods. A band of misfit friends, each carrying their own burdens at home and at school, start comparing what they have seen: odd sounds, impossible shadows, and moments when reality feels slightly wrong. Their curiosity hardens into resolve as they search for answers the authorities can’t, or won’t, provide. As the kids dig deeper, tensions flare among parents, police, and longtime residents who insist Derry has always been this way, and that asking questions only invites trouble. A small group of adults attempts to organize, protect the community, and make sense of the town’s growing dread. Meanwhile, a covert U.S. military operation takes an interest in Derry, treating the unrest as an opportunity. With danger rising on multiple fronts, the friends must decide who to trust and how far they will go to uncover what’s hiding in plain sight.
