Overview

After inheriting a crumbling country mansion, upbeat journalist Samantha and practical chef Jay decide to turn it into a cozy bed-and-breakfast. Their fresh start takes a bizarre turn when Samantha suddenly gains the ability to see and hear the eccentric ghosts who have been stuck on the property for centuries. As the living couple repairs the house and rebuilds their finances, they also navigate a noisy, opinionated afterlife community that still wants attention, comfort, and control.

Synopsis

Samantha and Jay, a married couple looking for a reset, move into a large inherited estate with big dreams of opening a bed-and-breakfast. The plan is ambitious: the building is old, the budget is tight, and every renovation uncovers a new problem. Then an unexpected incident leaves Samantha able to interact with the property’s longtime residents, a group of ghosts from very different eras who never stopped thinking of the mansion as theirs. Jay can’t see them, but he feels their impact as strange mishaps disrupt construction, bookings, and daily life. Samantha becomes the reluctant go-between, juggling her marriage, her business plans, and the ghosts’ constant requests, rivalries, and schemes. As the couple learns the rhythms of the house, they start to find unexpected support and humor in the chaos, slowly turning an impossible project into a workable home and a one-of-a-kind hospitality venture.

Answer: She can see and hear ghosts
This ability turns Samantha into the bridge between the living world and the mansion’s afterlife community, creating most of the show’s comedic and emotional tension.
