Fran Fine is a fast-talking, flashy dresser from Flushing, Queens, whose life gets upended when she loses her relationship and her job in one swoop. Desperate for a fresh start, she ends up at the elegant home of Maxwell Sheffield, a wealthy Broadway producer juggling work, society expectations, and raising his three children.
