The Professionals

Set in late-1970s Britain, The Professionals follows elite agents Bodie and Doyle as they tackle terrorism, kidnappings, and other high-profile crimes for the secretive unit CI5. Under the hard-edged leadership of George Cowley, the partners use surveillance, undercover work, and decisive action to stop threats before they hit the public. Bodie is a battle-hardened ex-soldier, while Doyle’s policing background brings a different perspective and constant friction.

The Professionals centers on CI5, a covert British task force created to respond to politically sensitive crimes that ordinary law enforcement cannot easily touch. The unit is run by George Cowley, a seasoned intelligence veteran who expects results and is willing to push his men into dangerous gray areas to get them. His lead operatives are Raymond Bodie, an ex-SAS paratrooper with a blunt, pragmatic approach, and William Doyle, a sharp detective from the regular police with a more questioning mindset. Together they investigate bomb plots, hijackings, organized crime, and corrupt networks that threaten public safety and national stability. Their methods combine rapid fieldwork, surveillance, informants, and undercover operations, often escalating into chases and armed confrontations. Bodie and Doyle clash over tactics and ethics, but their differences also make them effective partners. Each case tests their loyalty, judgment, and ability to stay alive while protecting the public.
