Tiffani Thiessen is an American actress, television host and cookbook author whose career began with a defining role in teen television and continued through adult drama and family comedy. As Kelly Kapowski in Saved by the Bell, she became part of the ensemble at Bayside High. Valerie Malone in Beverly Hills, 90210 presented a different character, while White Collar later cast her as Elizabeth Burke. Her work as a food-show host and author adds another public-facing strand to a career built around recurring television roles.
Born in Long Beach, California, on January 23, 1974, she was originally credited professionally as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen. Saved by the Bell began in 1989, and she continued Kelly in The College Years and related television films. She joined Beverly Hills, 90210 as Valerie in 1994, remaining a regular through 1998. Later parts included Billie Chambers in Fastlane and Natasha Drew in What About Brian. The change from Kelly to Valerie was also a change of series and dramatic tone; neither character should be used as a shorthand for the actress herself.
White Collar, which ran from 2009 to 2014, gave her the role of Elizabeth Burke, wife of FBI agent Peter Burke, played by Tim DeKay. In a 2011 interview with Daily Actor, Thiessen explained that she contributed to Elizabeth's occupation. After an early idea to make the character an accountant was dropped, she discussed possibilities with creator Jeff Eastin and suggested event planning. This specific account shows her involvement in developing the character's professional life beyond her relationship with Peter, rather than simply assuming every detail arrived fully fixed in the first script.
In that interview she also described the appeal of playing a capable woman within a strong marriage. She credited the writing while recognising that actors bring their own choices to a role, and spoke about the practical experience of working between Los Angeles and New York. The two White Collar photographs here show her at a convention panel, including one frame with Sharif Atkins, Marsha Thomason and DeKay. They document the cast appearing together in public, rather than depicting a scene or claiming that the performers were in character at the event.
Netflix announced Thiessen's casting in Alexa & Katie in June 2017, ahead of the comedy's 2018 premiere. She played Lori Mendoza, Alexa's protective mother, opposite the young leads Paris Berelc and Isabel May. Created by Heather Wordham, the multi-camera series centred on two close friends beginning high school while confronting a crisis that threatened their sense of belonging. For Thiessen, it placed an adult family role within a programme focused on teenage experience, a different position from the student character through whom many viewers first knew her.
Food television and publishing developed alongside those acting assignments. Dinner at Tiffani's began in 2015, bringing celebrity friends together around meals she prepared. Her publisher records the release of Pull Up a Chair in October 2018, and the gallery includes a photograph from that book's signing period. Here We Go Again followed in September 2023, written with Rachel Holtzman and focused on transforming leftovers. She also hosted Deliciousness, whose food-related clips and comic reactions offered a different presenting format from a dinner gathering or a scripted television character.
The three selected images preserve those separate public contexts: a convention portrait, a book signing and a wider White Collar panel photograph. The panel files carry July 22, 2010 capture metadata, which is used here rather than a conflicting later category label. The 2018 signing photograph retains its original share-alike licence instead of relying on a derivative with inconsistent licence information. Across acting, hosting and writing, Thiessen's career can be followed through the work itself: the school ensemble, the adult dramatic relationships, the family sitcom and the direct conversation with an audience about food.
Two distinct convention frames and a later book-signing photograph document television and author appearances, with individual dates and photographer credits.
