Storm Reid is an American actress whose screen career grew from youthful feature-film work into leading roles and award-winning television. A Wrinkle in Time made her central to a large-scale Disney adventure, while Euphoria and The Last of Us brought her into very different television worlds. Missing placed her at the center of a contemporary mystery. Taken together, these projects show a performer moving between imaginative spectacle, family relationships and suspense, with each format asking for a different balance of intimacy and scale.
An Atlanta native, Reid became widely visible while still a teenager. She was fourteen when A Wrinkle in Time reached audiences, appearing alongside Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and other established performers. Subsequent film work included Don't Let Go, The Invisible Man and The Suicide Squad. Her development also continued outside the industry: she studied at the University of Southern California while maintaining her acting career. In interviews she has discussed the scheduling and compromise required to keep both commitments, rather than presenting education and professional work as mutually exclusive choices.
Ava DuVernay's A Wrinkle in Time adapts Madeleine L'Engle's novel into an adventure across dimensions. The 2018 film places Reid's young heroine within a story about family, darkness and love, supported by a cast that also includes Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Pena, Zach Galifianakis and Chris Pine. Jennifer Lee wrote the screenplay. For Reid, the project represents an early opportunity to carry a major studio film while working within an expansive ensemble and a production whose scale was very different from an intimate television scene.
In Euphoria, Reid plays Gia Bennett, the younger sister of Zendaya's Rue. That relationship offers a perspective on the effects of Rue's struggles within her family. Reid's later guest appearance as Riley Abel in The Last of Us brought a separate form of television recognition: the Television Academy awarded her the drama guest-actress Emmy for the performance. The contrast between a continuing family relationship and a concentrated guest role is a useful way to approach these credits. They are distinct characters, rather than interchangeable examples of a single screen identity.
Missing, released in 2023, centers on June, played by Reid. When June's mother disappears during a trip to Colombia, the daughter tries to investigate from Los Angeles. Sony's synopsis describes her reliance on digital tools and the difficulty of seeking answers across borders. Nia Long plays the missing mother. The premise makes Reid's reactions, discoveries and changing understanding of her family central to the audience's experience. It offers a different viewing context from A Wrinkle in Time: the mystery grows through technology and information rather than a journey into fantasy.
Reid has also begun developing a music career. In a July 2026 Associated Press interview, she discussed releasing music independently through 1720 Music, including the singles Clean Sweep and Shotty. She described music as an opportunity to reveal more of herself alongside acting. The same report noted her USC graduation in the preceding year. These developments extend her public work beyond the roles that first established her, while her television award remains a concrete milestone in the acting career she continues to pursue.
A Reid retrospective can begin with the youthful scale of A Wrinkle in Time, move to the family dynamic of Euphoria and then compare Missing with her Last of Us performance. Such a sequence highlights changes in format, narrative responsibility and collaborators without reducing the career to a single breakthrough. The gallery below shows two separately sourced public appearances: a 2018 MTV interview and a 2020 Sister Circle appearance. These images document the performer herself and are clearly distinguished from photographs of the characters she plays.
Two distinct interview appearances document Reid in 2018 and 2020. These are images of the performer, not stills from her dramatic roles.
