Pamela Anderson is a Canadian-born actress whose work spans television comedy and action, feature films, documentary and musical theatre. C.J. Parker in Baywatch remains one of her most recognisable roles, but her career also includes Lisa in Home Improvement, Vallery Irons in V.I.P. and Roxie Hart on Broadway. More recently, The Last Showgirl and the 2025 version of The Naked Gun placed her in contrasting film leads. Those credits give a broader view of her performance career than the public image associated with any one programme.
Anderson was born in Ladysmith, British Columbia, in 1967. The Golden Globes' biography traces her early public exposure to a Canadian football game, where an appearance on the stadium screen led to advertising work. Modelling and appearances in Playboy preceded her wider television recognition. She played Lisa, the original assistant on the fictional Tool Time programme within Home Improvement, before joining Baywatch as C.J. Parker in 1992. The two series offered different kinds of exposure: one was a studio sitcom, the other a lifeguard drama built around beach rescues and ensemble stories.
Her principal Baywatch run continued through 1997. She then led V.I.P. as Vallery Irons from 1998 to 2002. The action-comedy's premise turns on Vallery accidentally saving a celebrity and becoming the public face of a professional bodyguard agency. That role makes use of the gap between reputation and practical experience, placing Anderson at the centre of a team rather than simply repeating the lifeguard setting. Other screen work included the title role in Barb Wire and Skyler Dayton in Stacked, extending her credits into feature action and another television comedy.
In April 2022, Anderson made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the revival of Chicago. A live musical required her to combine acting, singing and movement in front of a theatre audience, a different format from the filmed work for which she was best known. The following year, Ryan White's documentary Pamela, a Love Story revisited her life and career. Its producers included Jessica Hargrave, Julia Nottingham and Brandon Thomas Lee. The documentary and her memoir Love, Pamela created space for her own account alongside the many images and stories already circulating about her.
Gia Coppola's The Last Showgirl cast Anderson as Shelly, a Las Vegas performer confronting the closure of a long-running show. Written by Kate Gersten, the film brings her together with Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Billie Lourd, Kiernan Shipka and Brenda Song. Roadside Attractions records its nationwide release in January 2025, following its 2024 festival and limited-release period. The part earned Anderson a Golden Globe nomination. Its focus on an experienced performer facing a change in her working life gave Anderson a sustained dramatic role, with Shelly's future providing the centre of the story.
The Naked Gun followed in 2025, with Anderson playing Beth Davenport opposite Liam Neeson's Frank Drebin Jr. Paramount's cast record identifies both characters and places the film's premiere on August 1, 2025. This is a role in the later continuation of the comedy franchise, not in the original Leslie Nielsen films. Moving from Shelly's drama to Beth's place in a spoof detective story demonstrated a change of register within successive leading film roles. Outside performance, Anderson's official biography also records her foundation's advocacy for animal rights, human rights and environmental conservation.
The gallery shows two distinct public appearances: a New York photograph from June 2018 credited to Greg2600 and Harald Krichel's photograph at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2026. They are photographs of Anderson herself, rather than images of C.J., Shelly or Beth. Their separate credits and dates keep that distinction visible. Taken together with the selected roles, they invite viewers to follow the career across television, the stage and later film work, while recognising how different a familiar public face can become within a particular performance.
