Miranda Cosgrove is an actor, singer, host and producer known for Carly Shay in iCarly. Her screen work includes School of Rock, Drake & Josh and the voice of Margo in the Despicable Me films. She also hosts and executive produces Mission Unstoppable, an educational series focused on women working in science and technology. These credits show several forms of performance and participation: playing a fictional character, recording a voice, singing for an audience and helping introduce real people's work to viewers.
Cosgrove's early film work included Summer, the young band manager in School of Rock. Oceana's biographical account places that production alongside the beginning of Drake & Josh, where she played Megan Parker, the brothers' mischievous younger sister. The two projects gave her different positions in their ensembles. A classroom film brings many young characters together around a shared undertaking, while the sitcom builds recurring comic situations within a family. They provide useful context for the television leading role that followed.
As Carly Shay, Cosgrove became closely associated with iCarly. The later Paramount+ version returned to Carly and her friends as adults dealing with work, relationships and family life. Paramount's cast listing pairs her with Jerry Trainor as Spencer and Nathan Kress as Freddie, alongside Laci Mosley's Harper and Jaidyn Triplett's Millicent. Cosgrove is also credited as an executive producer. That production responsibility belongs alongside her acting credit when considering her work on the revival, rather than treating her contribution as only a return to a familiar character.
The change from younger Carly to adult Carly gives viewers a way to compare continuity and change within a comedy. Familiar relationships can carry memories from an earlier series, but the later setting introduces different decisions and expectations. A useful rewatch can pay attention to how a scene distributes its jokes among the ensemble and how Carly responds to the people around her. This approach keeps the performance connected to its particular story, instead of assuming that a returning character must remain fixed in an earlier stage of life.
Mission Unstoppable presents a different kind of on-screen role. Cosgrove hosts the program and serves as an executive producer, with Geena Davis also an executive producer. Its subjects include women working as engineers, zoologists, astronauts and other science and technology specialists. The show connects those professional activities to a young audience's interests. Here the viewer encounters Cosgrove as a presenter rather than as Carly: the central work is introducing and explaining real achievements, and the experts' lives supply the material rather than a scripted fictional family.
Cosgrove's music career includes the solo album Sparks Fly and the single Kissin U, both identified in Nickelodeon's career biography. Her film work also extends to animation through Margo in the Despicable Me franchise. Singing and animated voice performance each place particular emphasis on sound, although they serve different purposes. A song has its own musical structure, while a voice performance participates in a character and a larger film. These strands broaden the career beyond the visible physical performance familiar from her live-action sitcoms.
The gallery pairs a 2009 MTV Video Music Awards photograph with a wide view of a 2011 concert performance. One records a red-carpet appearance; the other preserves the stage, accompanying musicians, lighting and audience around a live show. The concert picture is intentionally presented as an event view rather than a close portrait. Together they document the public and musical work surrounding her screen career. A viewing route through School of Rock, iCarly, a Despicable Me film and Mission Unstoppable makes the different roles and formats particularly clear.
A red-carpet portrait and a separate wide concert photograph document the public and musical sides of Cosgrove's career.
