Luke Hemsworth is an Australian actor whose career connects Australian television with American genre films and the long-running science-fiction drama Westworld. He played Ashley Stubbs in that series and the title figure in Hickok. His surname also links him to his younger brothers Chris and Liam, but his own credits follow a distinct route through television ensembles, independent features and leading roles. Westworld offers a particularly useful introduction because the character returns across the series rather than appearing in a single isolated story.
Hemsworth began acting on the Australian soap opera Neighbours, where his character was Nathan Tyson. TV Guide's career summary also records a long involvement in Australian rules football and a period running a flooring business. In a 2017 interview with Entertainment Tonight, he described returning his attention to acting after focusing on family and that business. Moving to the United States involved leaving an established support network, with his brothers helping make the change possible. That account gives the career a practical background beyond the familiar family connection.
Westworld cast Hemsworth as Ashley Stubbs, the security chief associated with the park and the safety of its guests. TVmaze's episode record places him in the 2016 premiere and documents appearances through the 2022 fourth season. For a first viewing, the role works best followed within the series' unfolding story rather than through a list of later revelations. His responsibilities put Stubbs close to the boundary between the park's promised entertainment and the systems meant to control it, a useful perspective on the drama's setting.
Hickok, released in 2017, gave Hemsworth his first feature-film leading role, according to his contemporary Entertainment Tonight interview. He portrayed Wild Bill Hickok, working in a cast that included Kris Kristofferson and Trace Adkins. Hemsworth described the chance to play a Western gunslinger as especially appealing after Westworld, where Stubbs occupied a different place in a Western-themed environment. The pairing makes an interesting viewing contrast: one work builds science fiction around a manufactured frontier, while the other places its central figure within the Western film tradition.
His film work also includes Kill Me Three Times, directed by Kriv Stenders. The distributor identifies Hemsworth among an ensemble featuring Simon Pegg, Alice Braga, Teresa Palmer, Sullivan Stapleton, Callan Mulvey, Steve Le Marquand and Bryan Brown. Its dark-comedy thriller structure offers a different setting from Hickok or Westworld. Pegg plays the assassin at the center of the distributor's synopsis; that character should not be confused with Hemsworth's part. The film is a useful reminder that supporting ensemble work remains an important part of his filmography.
The later action film Land of Bad reunited Luke and Liam Hemsworth in the same cast, with Russell Crowe also featured. Paramount's cast listing identifies Luke as Sergeant Abell and Liam as Sergeant JJ Kinney. Keeping those roles distinct matters when tracing the brothers' work. The film adds a contemporary military thriller to Luke's genre credits, extending a viewing path that already includes a Western, a darkly comic crime story and television science fiction. These connections describe the range of projects rather than treating every action role as the same performance.
A concise introduction can pair Westworld with Hickok, then add Kill Me Three Times for an ensemble contrast. Neighbours provides an earlier television reference point. This is a suggested route, not a complete filmography or a ranking of his work. The gallery records separate San Diego Comic-Con appearances in 2017 and 2019, photographed by Gage Skidmore. Both are photographs of Hemsworth at public events. They document his public career without presenting a panel photograph as a scene from a film or as an image of Stubbs in character.
