Intro

Keon Alexander is a Canadian actor known for Marco Inaros in The Expanse, Rami Said in Tyrant, Dominick Baptiste in Impulse and Javad in The Night Agent. Earlier work and archive photographs also identify him as Keon Mohajeri. His screen career moves between intimate drama, political thrillers and science fiction, with The Expanse giving him an extended role as a leader whose public ambitions collide with private relationships. This biography follows the professional credits under both names while keeping the performer distinct from the actions and beliefs of his fictional characters.

Career snapshot

Early television appearances included Flashpoint and the 2010 adaptation of Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures, in which he played Sri. Maryam Keshavarz's 2011 film Circumstance credits him as Joey under the name Keon Mohajeri; the New Zealand International Film Festival's cast record confirms that identification. Canadian Film Centre photographs from the same period place him among its Actors Conservatory graduates and at industry events. These records document an earlier stage of his career before the internationally distributed television roles that later made his current professional name more familiar.

The entry point

Alexander subsequently appeared as Rami Said in Tyrant during 2015–2016 and as Dominick Baptiste in Impulse in 2018. He entered The Expanse as Marco Inaros in its fourth season, with the part expanding into a regular role in season five. Marco's place in the story is both political and familial: he is a Belter leader, Naomi Nagata's former partner and Filip's father. The combination gives his scenes more than one source of pressure, connecting the large-scale conflict of the series with the history between three particular people.

Screen identity and style

In a 2021 Culturess interview, Alexander described the trust among himself, Dominique Tipper and Jasai Chase-Owens as a foundation for performing the difficult family scenes. He knew Cara Gee before joining the series and had met Tipper before they were cast together. Their supportive working relationship helped him explore behavior far removed from his own. He also explained that playing Marco required understanding the character's experience of injustice without treating that understanding as approval of his methods. The distinction is important to his account of preparing such an antagonistic role.

Collaborations and patterns

Speaking to Inverse in December 2020, Alexander discussed how the role led him to examine connections between public structures and individual psychology. Rather than beginning and ending with the label of villain, he looked at how a person's history could shape a political mission. The interview also places the fifth-season filming before the pandemic, despite the contemporary resonance viewers might find in it. His comments describe an actor's interpretive work: finding a coherent perspective from inside a character while allowing the drama to expose the consequences of that perspective.

Era reflection

The Night Agent brought Alexander into another form of suspense in 2025. Netflix's season-two cast guide identifies Javad as the head of security for the Iranian mission, responsible for protecting its staff and policing their loyalty. The character becomes an antagonist within a plot involving Peter Sutherland and Noor Taheri. Unlike Marco's spacefaring command in The Expanse, this authority operates within diplomatic offices and covert intelligence work. The contrast offers another way to follow Alexander's screen roles without assuming that characters who exercise power are interchangeable performances.

Legacy and rediscovery

The gallery draws on three separate Canadian Film Centre events from 2011 and 2012. In the sponsor-reception photograph, Alexander stands at right beside Isabel Gomez-Moriana. The showcase photograph places him at right with Eli Goree and Peter Stebbings, while the Los Angeles group image shows him third from the left alongside Sarah Allen, Katie Boland and Nia Vardalos. These are public industry photographs credited in the archive under Keon Mohajeri, not scenes from later television series. Their captions preserve each occasion, position and source credit so the group images remain unambiguous.
