Isaac Ordonez is an American actor best known as Pugsley Addams in Wednesday, the Netflix series centered on the character played by Jenna Ortega. His role grew from a small part in the first season into a regular presence in the second. The younger Addams sibling joins Nevermore Academy and has to find a place among its students. That change gave Ordonez more to play than a brief family appearance, expanding both Pugsley's relationships and the supernatural side of his story.
Before Wednesday, Ordonez worked in short films. Director Joao Dall'Stella's record for Dia de las Carpas identifies him as Hector in a story about boys helping an undocumented girl reach her family after an immigration raid. The film combines that journey with a magical secret. The USC School of Cinematic Arts separately lists him as Diego in Psycho Sally, David Aguilar's breakup comedy shown in its First Look 2020 program. These specific credits establish earlier acting work in productions with different characters, rather than treating his career as beginning only with Pugsley.
Wednesday began in 2022, and the second season arrived in 2025. In a Backstage interview that August, Ordonez described the difference between the two periods of his performance. The first season often placed Pugsley in emotional family situations, while the next allowed a more energetic and mischievous side to emerge. Becoming a series regular also meant spending more time within the show's school setting. That progression offers a straightforward way to follow the role: the character remains Wednesday's younger brother, but gains more of his own activity and perspective.
Preparing a familiar character meant looking at earlier versions without simply reproducing one of them. Ordonez told Nerdist that he had watched the black-and-white Addams Family series and films, including animation, before taking on the role. He emphasized Pugsley's desire for friendship and the difficulty of arriving at Nevermore expecting to be popular because his sister was known there. The character's outsider status becomes a source of comic disappointment and vulnerability. His comments make that wish to belong an important part of his interpretation, alongside the family's recognizable taste for mischief.
The production also gave him practical lessons in camera acting. In Backstage, Ordonez recalled Luis Guzman, who plays Gomez, arranging exercises after an early finish on set. The work involved reaching marks without looking down and adjusting to different camera lenses. This is a concrete example of learning within an ensemble, separate from simply admiring an experienced costar. Ordonez also told Nerdist that watching Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton work helped him notice choices he could apply to his own performance as he became more comfortable on the production.
Pugsley's electrical powers brought a physical task as well as effects added later. In Netflix's official Wednesday Woecast, Ordonez discussed looking at other characters with similar powers and receiving advice from Fred Armisen, the show's Uncle Fester. He associated Pugsley's new ability with greater confidence after feeling helpless in earlier family events. The performance therefore has to suggest both an imaginary force and the young character's response to having it. Gesture, timing and confidence become part of the portrayal before the finished visual effects complete the scene.
The available work documents an early career developing through short-film roles and an increasingly substantial television assignment. Ordonez's interviews concentrate on craft, observation and the particular needs of Pugsley, giving viewers ways to recognize the acting choices behind a heavily stylized series.
