Ice-T built a public career in music before establishing a durable screen presence. His acting work includes New Jack City and the long-running role of Odafin 'Fin' Tutuola in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. These performances belong alongside, rather than outside, his work as a rapper and the frontman of Body Count. The publisher's career record identifies him as an actor, songwriter and producer. The photographs here document live music performances, giving a clearly labeled view of that part of his career rather than pretending to illustrate police-drama scenes.
The 2022 biography filed with the Los Angeles City Clerk records film credits including New Jack City, Ricochet, Trespass and Johnny Mnemonic. It also places his television career within a continuing professional relationship with producer Dick Wolf. A public biography is useful for identifying credits, while the films themselves reveal the differences among characters. A musician entering film need not repeat a stage persona unchanged. Screen acting introduces partners, camera distance, editing and a fictional situation, all of which can redirect the audience's expectations of a familiar performer.
Fin arrived in the second season of Special Victims Unit in 2000; the series itself began in 1999. That distinction prevents the show's opening year from being mistaken for Ice-T's first season. The City Clerk record describes the character as Sergeant Tutuola in its 2022 context. When revisiting the early episodes, watch how a new detective finds a place within an already established ensemble. A procedural requires continuity in relationships as well as a case to investigate, and recurring performances make those relationships legible across separate weekly stories.
New Jack City provides a useful film comparison. In a 2023 interview, Ice-T discussed playing an undercover detective and how the film changed his understanding of the perspective a recognizable actor brings to a role. That is the performer's retrospective account, not a statement that a character's experiences are his own. The film and Fin can be watched for differences in tone, pace and relationships. An actor may bring a familiar voice to both while still responding to different directors, scene partners and dramatic circumstances.
The archived 2022 biography identifies several Wolf collaborations, including Players and Exiled: A Law & Order Movie, as well as appearances connected with other Law & Order and Chicago programs. These credits show that a working partnership can extend beyond one regular role. The same document quotes Wolf about casting and professional experience; that is a producer's perspective preserved in an official record. A useful career study keeps that testimony separate from an independent evaluation of every project or from a claim that future work is guaranteed.
Body Count belongs in this screen-career record because the public performer continued to work in music. Simon & Schuster's author biography identifies the band and guitarist Ernie C, while the gallery dates three separate festival appearances in Germany. They are concert photographs, not scenes from SVU, and the original photographers and licenses are recorded below. Comparing the images shows different public-performance settings across several years. It does not establish how a fictional detective was played; for that, television episodes supply the appropriate visual and narrative context.
A practical route through Ice-T's work pairs New Jack City with an early Fin episode and a later Special Victims Unit story, then considers a Body Count performance as another form of audience address. Listen to changes in conversational rhythm and how the performer shares attention with a cast or band. His sustained presence across media is more useful to study through those specific examples than through a single label. The sources and photographs form a selected archive, with historical statements dated and the distinction between person, musician and fictional character preserved.
Three separately dated concert appearances document Ice-T’s work with Body Count. They complement the acting biography and are explicitly not SVU or film stills.
